Service lines and old internal piping carry both microplastic and lead. The water quality at your tap is downstream of every pipe between the treatment plant and your faucet.

The plastic body offsets some of what the carbon filter removes. Glass-bodied alternatives exist; gravity filters with stainless housings are even better.

Stainless body, plastic lid. The lid is where hot drinks make plastic contact, daily. The shape that markets as 'premium' is the shape with the most plastic at the drinking interface.
